1. India and Japan signed an MOU for the cooperation in the peaceful uses of Nuclear Energy.

2. The cabinet has approved 15% hike on the recommendation of the 3rd pay commission for central public central enterprises employees.

3. ICICI bank has launched a facility where by its existing salaried customers can avail personal loan upto RS. 15 lakh for the fixed period of 60 months at ATM.

4. Chennai Open Tournament renamed as "Maharashtra Open Tournament" going to be held in Pune.

5. Australia joins International Solar Alliance (ISA).

  • IAS is an initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2015 in Paris.
  • Australia become 35th country to join.
6. Hire App, launched by Google for recruiting.

7. BharatNet Project.

  • Project aims to provide broadband connectivity to all village bodies and gram panchayat by March 2019.
8. Petroleum Institute established in Visakhapatnam, Andhara Pradesh.

9. Ram Nath Kovind is the 14th president of India.

10. L.K. Advani received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

11. Union Cabinet has given its nod for the sale of government's 51.11% stake in HPCL to ONGC for Rs.30000 crore.
