1.) 30th July: World Day against Trafficking in Persons.

  • This year the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has chosen ‘act to protect and assist trafficked persons’ as the focus of the World Day.

2.) RBI has imposed a penalty of Rs. 1 crore on state-owned Union Bank of India for “non-compliance” with the directions on Know Your Customer (KYC) norms.
3.) MUNTRA (Mission Unmanned TRAcked): India's first unmanned tank developed by DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organisation).

  • Muntra-S has been developed for unmanned surveillance missions, whereas.
  • Muntra-M is built for detecting mines. 
  • Muntra-N will be deployed in areas where nuclear radiation or bio weapon risk is high.
  • Muntra tanks have surveillance radar and can be used to spy on ground target about 15 kilometers away.

4.) 'Apni Gaddi Apna Rozgar' scheme launched by Punjab Government.

  • Under the scheme, the state government will be providing commercial two wheelers and four wheelers to unemployed youth at subsidized rates.
  • Scheme aims to generate job opportunities for youth and providing better mobile transport in Punjab.

5.) CANDI - Digital branch of CANARA Bank launched in Bengaluru.

  • The most attractive feature of the Digital Branch is a humanoid robot that addresses basic queries of customers on banking products and services.

6.) Union Health Minister JP Nadda has announced that the government will provide Hepatitis C vaccine free from next year and would help in tackling the liver related diseases.
7.) NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) has signed an AMA (Accreditation Master Agreement) with Green Climate Fund.
8.) Charging Stations Installed in Bengaluru. Charging Stations have been installed by M/s Mahindra REVA Electric Vehicles
9.) Accenture has developed an artificial intelligence powered solution to help visually impaired people improve the way they experience the world & enhance their productivity in workplace.
10.) CG Corporation of Nepal’s along with 3 other partners has launched a $100 million venture capital fund to invest in start-ups in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Nepal.
11.) The longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world was officially opened in Switzerland. 494 metres long, it overtakes the “Titan-RT” bridge in Germany as the world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge.
12.) State Bank of India has cut the interest rate on savings accounts with up to Rs1 crore to 3.5% from 4%.
13.) Ramon Magsaysay Awards Winners

  • Yoshiaki Ishizawa, a Japanese historian who helped Cambodians preserve the Angkor temples.
  • Gethsie Shanmugam, a Sri Lankan teacher who counseled war widows and orphans to overcome their nightmares.

14.) Indian women’s basketball team defeated Kazakhstan in finals of FIBA Asia Cup 2017 held in Bengaluru.
15.) C Rahul Yadav clinched the men’s singles and Manu Attri & B Sumeeth Reddy clinched the men’s doubles title at Lagos International challenge in Nigeria.
16.) India have bagged 24 medals at the Jordan Junior and Cadet Open table tennis tournament. 7 Gold, 7 Silver and 10 Bronze medals.
17.) Katerina Siniakova wins Swedish Open.
18.) Sebastian Vettel wins Hungarian Grand Prix.
19.) Caeleb Dressel of US became the 1st swimmer to win 3 gold medals in a single evening at the world championships.
