  1. 14 November: Children’s Day. Children’s Day is celebrated on the 14th of November in India as a tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru, who was born on November 14, 1889.
  2. 14 November: World Diabetes Day. Theme for 2017 is 'Women and diabetes - Our right to a healthy future'.
  3. BharatNet project, to provide high-speed broadband service in all Gram Panchayats by March 2019.
  4. Project Saksham launch by Railways. Project Saksham is the country’s largest time-bound “upskilling” exercise for government employees to upgrade the skill sets of its 13 lakh-strong workforce with a single drive spanning 9 months.
  5. Asian Bankers Association (ABA) conference in Mumbai.
  6. South Asia Economic Summit (SAES) has begun in Kathmandu, Nepal.
  7. Pankaj Advani lifts the IBSF World Billiards Championship.
  8. Four agreements were signed by India and Philippines in areas including Defence Cooperation and Logistics, agriculture, Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises-MSME and forging closer relations between the Indian Council of World Affairs and the Philippines Foreign Service Institute. Manila is the capital, Philippine peso is the currency and Rodrigo Duterte is the president of Philippines.
  9. Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore released the India Youth Development Index and Report. The Index enables recognizing the high and low performing states, identifies the weak domains and informs the priority areas of intervention for youth development.
  10. Northeast is all set to get India’s first-ever “Air Dispensary” based in a helicopter.
  11. A flexible new material has been developed by researchers from Empa, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science & Technology, which generates electricity when stressed.
