- The country's largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) slashed benchmark lending rate by 0.05 percent across maturities. The reduction in the marginal cost of funds based lending rate (MCLR) came after a gap of almost 10 months.
- MSME Samadhaan: Shri Giriraj Singh launched MSME Delayed Payment Portal. (http://msefc.msme.gov.in).
- Cabinet has approved the continuation of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana as Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana- Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied sector Rejuvenation for 3 years i.e. 2017-18 to 2019-20.
- Walmart India launched its first fulfilment centre in Mumbai.
- Cabinet decided to make India's first conservation reserve for blackbuck in Allahabad's Meja, Uttar Pradesh.
- Yes Bank unveiled BHIM YES PAY, an upgraded version of the existing payment wallet service.
- Chanda Kochhar, ICICI Bank chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD) and Priyanka Chopra have featured on the list of the world’s 100 most powerful women compiled by Forbes.
- Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has given ex-post facto approval for implementation of Special Banking Arrangement (SBA).
- Neelmani N. Raju has been appointed as Karnataka’s first woman Director General and Inspector General of Police.
- Shri Ram Nath Kovind, President of India, inaugurated the 21st World Congress of Mental Health.
- According to a newly-formed Gender Vulnerability Index (GVI), Goa is the safest and Bihar is the least safe.
- Indiana, a State in the US, and Karnataka have signed an agreement to establish sister-state ties for cooperation in economic, educational and cultural fields. The two states will focus on workforce development, academic co-operation, information and communications technologies, advanced manufacturing, and materials. Siddaramaiah is the CM and Vajubhai Vala is the Governor of Karnataka.
- Assam government has MoUs and Terms of Reference (ToR) with Singapore for skilling youth of the state. The MoU and ToR for North East Skills Centre (NESC) were signed between Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, of Assam government and ITE Education Service, Singapore.
- Indian Air Force had left for Israel to participate in exercise ‘Blue Flag-17’. Blue Flag-17 is a bi-annual multilateral exercise which aims to strengthen military cooperation amongst participating nations.
- NPS: National Pension System. Increase the maximum age of joining from the 60 years to 65 years.
- Ajay Bisaria as the next high commissioner to Pakistan.
- The 210-metre-high statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has received environmental clearance, making it the world’s tallest statue, once built.
- 9th Global Green Film Festival hosted by Delhi.
- Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) approved USD 2 million loan (Rs. 13,000 crores) for five projects in Andhra Pradesh. Jin Liqun is president and Beijing, China is headquarters of AIIB.
- PRABAL DOSTYK – 2017, joint military exercise between Indian Army and the Kazakhstan Army. Astana is the Capital of Kazakhstan.
- Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) and Singapore-based ITE Education Services (ITEES) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for skill development in the State.
- Sudhanshu Jain as CFO of Paytm Payments Bank.
