  1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 30 km-long, first phase of Hyderabad Metro Rail between Miyapur and Nagole, at Miyapur station.
  2. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has launched Paytm Payments Bank. A customer can open a savings bank account in them and have deposits of upto Rs. 1 lakh. The other three operational ones are Airtel Payments Bank, India Post Payments Bank and Fino Payments Bank.
  3. Senior IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola was appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India.
  4. Indian paddler G Sathiyan wins gold in 2017 ITTF. ITTF stands for International Table Tennis Federation.
  5. Myanmar’s de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been stripped of the Freedom of Oxford award.
  6. Tata Power Solar Systems has commissioned India’s first rooftop solar carport at 70000 sq. meter Unity One Mall, in Rohini, Delhi. Tata Power Solar Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Company.
  7. IndiaFirst Life Insurance has launched India’s first-ever micro-insurance planinsurance khata’ for those in the informal sector and agricultural laborers with seasonal incomes. Insurance Khata provides individuals with the flexibility to pay a premium in parts depending on the periodicity of his/her income. The entry level minimum premium for ‘Insurance Khata’ is Rs. 500/-.
  8. Jet Airways and Air France-KLM announced a partnership to route more traffic through Europe and on to North America, in a potential challenge to Gulf carrier Etihad Airways that is a shareholder in Jet.
  9. The Chhattisgarh Government has imposed a ban on the bursting of firecrackers in six of its cities, including the state capital Raipur, ahead of the wedding season from December 1st to January 31st. Besides Raipur, other cities, which have been banned from bursting firecrackers, include Bilaspur, Bhilai, Durg, Raigarh and Korba.
  10. India will provide USD 2.87 million to Afghanistan for refurbishment (renovation) of 350 buses that will help in strengthening the public transport system of Kabul.
  11. Amazon India collaborated with hardware acceleratorHAX” and crowd-funding communityKickstarter” to announce “Startup C-Cube” – a multi-level challenge for the startups in Bengaluru. This move is expected to bring companies together to work towards building the product startup ecosystem.
  12. Robin Campillo’s French film 120 Beats Per Minute, about a passionate fight against indifference towards AIDS, won the prestigious Golden Peacock award for best film at the controversy-ridden 48th International Film Festival of India. The film’s actor Nahuel Perez Biscayart won the Silver Peacock in the best actor male category.
