  1. 10 December is celebrated as Human Rights Day.

  6. The Centre will soon issue universal ID cards to persons with disabilities which will be valid throughout India.
  7. The ASEAN India Connectivity Summit (AICS) will begin in New Delhi on 11th December.The theme of the two-day Summit is “Powering Digital and Physical Linkages for Asia in the 21st Century”.
  8. Eminent Hindi writer Mamta Kalia will be honoured with literary award Vyas Samman for year 2017 for her novel “Dukkham Sukkham”. Kalia is known for her works in Hindi and English including “Beghar”, “Janch Abhi Jaari Hai”, “Nirmohi”, and “Bolne Wali Aurat”.
  9. Mehuli GhoshTushar Mane have became the 1st Indian shooters to secure women’s & men’s quota places for 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
  10. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has launched a scheme under which free entrance coaching will be provided for SC & ST students preparing for civil services, banking & other competitive examinations. Under Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Viskas Yojana, free coaching will be provided through well established coaching institutions. Assistance will be started for 100 students & extended to 5,000 students.
  11. Centre has sanctioned Rs 75 crore for setting up a LPG bottling plant in Meghalaya which will help increase the clean fuel’s penetration, especially in the rural areas of the state. Only 27% of the households in the state are linked with LPG connectivity which is much below the national average. Meghalaya is the only state in North East region which has no bottling plant.
  12. United Arab Emirates will open 3 new consular offices in India soon. New offices in Chandigarh, Chennai & Hyderabad will help Indians in those regions to get UAE visas easily.
  13. Indian Diving Team won 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals in Indonesia Open Aquatic Championship 2017. The five-day championship concluded recently in Indonesia's Jakarta.
  14. United Nation Women in collaboration with Facebook inaugurated a two day event in Mumbai titled 'We The Women' to empower and recognise the magnificent contribution of women in our society.
  15. MSME Sambandh’, was launched by Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises Minister (Independent charge) Giriraj Singh. The objective of the portal is to monitor the implementation of the public procurement from MSEs by Central public sector enterprises.Using this Portal MSME would be able to access the information about the products being procured by CPSEs.
