Daily Vocabulary | Post No 6

Hello Friends,
Here is the Daily Vocabulary. In this post you can get ten words with its meaning in English, Hindi and Gujarati language. You can also get image with each word that shows its meaning so that you can easily understand the word and remember it with that given image. You can also get one Sentence using the given word. Learn the word and make your own sentences on the basis of the given word and its image. As all of you know that vocabulary is an important to learn and understand English subject for any competitive exams so this will helpful for you to deal with all kinds of questions in exams.







1. Ruminate (રુમિનેટ)
think deeply about something.
चिंतन करना, जुगल करना, जुगाली करना
ચિંતન કરવું, વાગોળવું, મનમાં ઘોળ્યા કરવું
We sat ruminating on the nature of existence.


2. Banter
the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks.
मज़ाक, हंसी, मज़ाक उड़ाना
મશ્કરી કરવી
There was much good-natured banter.


3. Repartee
conversation or speech characterized by quick, witty comments or replies.
हाजिर जवाबी, व्यंग्य उक्ति, क्षिप्र उत्तर
ફેરારી, હાજર જવાબ, વિનોદી પ્રત્યુત્તર
He had a quick mind and a splendid gift of repartee.


4. Retreat (રીટ્રીટ)
move back or withdraw.
पीछे हटना, स्थान छोड़ना
પીછેહઠ, પાછું જવું, પીછેહઠ કરવી
It becomes so hot that the lizards retreat into the shade.


5. Commotion
a state of confused and noisy disturbance.
हल्ला गुल्ला, उत्तेजना, क्षोभ, खलबली
સંકટ, ખળભળાટ, ધાંધલ, ઉત્પાત
She was distracted by a commotion across the street.


6. Inebriate
make (someone) drunk; intoxicate.
मतवाला, शराबी, मदहोश
મશહૂર, દારૂના કેફમાં ચકચૂર, દારૂડિયું
I got mildly inebriated.


7. Chaotic
in a state of complete confusion and disorder.
अराजक, अस्तव्यस्त, गड़बड़
અસ્તવ્યસ્ત, અસ્તવ્યસ્ત, અત્યંત અવ્યવસ્થિત
The political situation was chaotic.


8. Ostensibly
as appears or is stated to be true, though not necessarily so; apparently.
प्रत्यक्ष तौर पर, प्रकट रूप से
દેખીતી રીતે, દેખાવકારક રીતે, આડંબરી રીતે
The party secretary resigned, ostensibly from ill health.


9. Thrust (થ્રસ્ટ)
push suddenly or violently in a specified direction.

She thrust her hands into her pockets.


10. Permeate
spread throughout (something); pervade.
चूना, रिसना, रसना, घुसना, छेदों में होकर जाना
પ્રસાર કરવો, ના છિદ્રો સોંસરવું નીકળવું, ના દરેક ભાગમાં પ્રસરવું કે વ્યાપવું
The aroma of soup permeated the air.
