for the supply of drinking water to Scheduled Tribe (ST) dominated habitations.

8.) Cabinet Approves MoU between India and
United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. The Union Cabinet chaired by
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved signing of the Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) between India and United Kingdom and Northern Ireland
regarding cooperation and Exchange of Information for the Purposes of Combating
International Criminality and Tackling Serious Organised Crime.
9.) Cabinet approves MoU between India and Canada on
IPRs. The Union Cabinet
on Wednesday gave its ex-post facto approval to the MoU between India and
Canada to boost bilateral cooperation in the field of Intellectual Property Rights
(IP), an official statement said. The MoU was signed on February 23, 2018 and
is intended to promote innovation, creativity and economic growth in both
countries.
10.) SC appoints Justice Jawad Rahim as acting head for NGT. The Supreme Court on Tuesday appointed former Karnataka
High Court Judge, Justice Jawad Rahim as the acting Chairperson of the
National Green Tribunal (NGT). The appointment was made by a Bench comprising
Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y.
Chandrachud on a Petition filed by the NGT Bar Association.
11.) Long-Term Capital Gains Tax to come into
effect from 01st April. Several Budget proposals, including the reintroduction of the
tax on long-term capital gains (LTCG) exceeding Rs 1 lakh from the sale of
shares, will kick in from 01st April 2018, the beginning of the 2018-19
financial year.
