1.) 16th International Energy Forum (IEF) Ministerial meeting will be held in New Delhi in April 2018.

2.) 7th Asia Steel International Conference will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in February 2018.

3.) World Economic Forum Summit was held at Davos, Switzerland. Bern is the capital and Swiss Franc is the Currency of Switzerland.

4.) Sachin: A Billion Dreams”, a biopic on cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has won two awards at the recently concluded 11th Tehran International FICTS Festival 2018.

5.) The Andhra Pradesh Government and the Canton of Zurich signed a letter of intent, to promote mutual prosperity and development. The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu.

6.) The Government of India, the Government of Uttarakhand and the World Bank Board signed a $120 million Loan Agreement which will help increase access to improved water supply services in peri-urban areas in the State of Uttarakhand.

7.) India will host the International Dam Safety Conference – 2018 at Thiruvananthapuram on January 23-24, which will be inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

8.) Indian Overseas Bank has signed an MoU with National Housing Bank for the Rural Housing Interest Subsidy Scheme (RHISS) of the Ministry of Rural Development. The aim of the RHISS is to provide subsidy for housing loans taken by those living in rural areas for construction and modifications of their dwelling units.

9.) The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation launched ‘Ganga Gram’ – a project for sanitation based integrated development of all 4470 villages along the River Ganga.

10.) Shri Srikumar Menon, presently Ambassador of India to South Sudan has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Angola.

11.) The National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) has made its First investment. NIIF has partnered with DP World to create an investment platform for ports, terminals, transportation and logistics businesses in India.

12.) Himachal Pradesh launched nutrition scheme for children affected by HIV under which they would be provided nutritional supplement. The initiative would go a long way providing nutritional supplement & it would boost immunity of around 400 youth up to 18 years of age, who had been tested positive for HIV.

13.) S Somanath has taken charge as the new director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC).

14.) Lifter Rakhi Halder created a new national record in clean and jerk to a gold medal in the 63kg women’s category in the 33rd Women Senior National Weightlifting Championships, in Mangaluru, Karnataka.
